A nice early workprint of a promising-looking comedy Charlie Bartlett has been released few hours ago. This is rather a p2p release and there’s no group officialy standing behing it, but it will surely be very popular because of one simple reason: the flick won’t hit cinemas until February 22. You could have seen various commercials and trailers and if everything goes well, this will be a real hit. The release is slightly out of sync in first 10 minutes, but then fixes just fine. Don’t forget, it’s just a workprint, some scenes may not be fully finished and effects/audio may be missing.
Wealthy teenager Charlie Bartlett is failing miserably at fitting in at a new public high school run by the world-weary Principal Gardner. As he begins to better understand the social hierarchy, Charlie’s honest charm and likability positions him as the resident “psychiatrist” dishing out advice, plus the occasional prescription with his partner and fellow student, Murphy Bivens, to other students in need. Along the way, he decides to take some of his own advice, find romance, and learn to accept who he is, thus wielding a witty dark comedy about the angst-filled years before college.
