Group HLS released a dvd screener of limited historical drama Hunger. The flick about Irish republican hunger striker Bobby Sands holds a very decent rating at IMDB, with 8.4 points. The main role is played by German actor Michael Fassbender. The 1 CD release was nuked for bad AR (proof), but it’s nothing significant and it’s still very watchable.
Hunger centres not just on Spluss but on everything happening in the Maze prison in 1981, when IRA prisoners decided to starve themselves until they were granted status as political prisoners. Sands, 27, who doesn’t appear until a third of the way through the film, was the first to die, and his name became synonymous with the protest.
