Apparently none of our editors bothered covering this, so I’ll make a quick post about this show which I thought was somewhat entertaining. The MTV Movie Awards is a film awards show presented annually on MTV (Music Television). It contains comedic satire in the form of flick parodies that uses actual flick footage edited with hosts and other performing celebrities, along with music performances by hit bands. The nominees are for each of the 15-17 categories decided by a special panel at Tenth Planet Productions, the production company who created the MTV Movie Awards. Winners are decided by voting from the general public. Presently voting is done through MTV’s official website. In its 17th iteration, the awards were hosted by Mike Myers this year. And group Myers brings us a nice quality PDTV rip of the event.

The 2008 MTV Movie Awards were held on Sunday at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA. The Pussycat Dolls and Coldplay performed musical acts along with a string of other presenters and celebs who did skits. Chris Brown helped open the show by challenging host Mike Meyers to a dance-off. Enjoy.
