This sneaked in quietly a few hours ago without earning a lot of attention. Probably because we’ve had many big name releases yesterday that were released by top scene groups. So there came along group Larceny with their first release plus brought us this comedy with Nicole Kidman plus Jack Black. Not a half bad start.
Synopsis: NEW YORK PREMIERE AT NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL 2007 (Limited) Writer-director Noah Baumbach follows up his Oscar-nominated THE SQUID AND THE WHALE with another bitingly funny plus painfully honest dissection of family life. This time around, the topic is sisterhood. Margot (Nicole Kidman) and her adolescent son Claude (Zane Pais) take a train from New York City to Long Island, where Margot?s sister Pauline (Jennifer Jason Leigh) is about to get married to Malcolm (Jack Black). Even though Margot is a successful writer with a compassionate husbplus (John Turturro), she is repressed, bitter, insecure, plus angry, plus she takes out her frustrations on anyone plus everyone around her.
