I saw these guys live, a couple of years ago, supporting Blue October. They put on a pretty decent show, plus are now releasing their third album, Beyond the Horizon. I haven’t listened to it yet, but have decent expectations. If you like Welsh alternative rock, check it out.
The making of People in Planes second album, Beyond the Horizon, reflects the band’s intuition for making diverse, melodic music as they worked with four producers in seven different studios across America, Englplus and Wales. Initial sessions with Our Lady Peace front man Raine Maida provided the creative building blocks to lead on to sessions with Queens Of The Stone age collaborators ‘Eleven’, Panic At The Disco producer Matt Squire plus finally Doves/Massive Attack producer Dan Austin. The results speak for themselves. Newsweek praises, ‘Pretty Buildings’, the band’s long lead setup track for this album, stating, ‘Hear ‘Pretty Buildings’, the new single by Welsh band People in Planes. This ballad, rich in melody with strong, searching lyrics, shows why this group is one to watch.’
