I’ve been meaning to do a ‘Staff Pick’ for this movie for a while now, but wasn’t able to find a torrent for a high quality release. UNDEAD came to my aid with this fantastic release that includes very high quality video and AC3 audio on 2 CDs. If you’ve not heard about this movie, you have been seriously deprived. Maintaining an incredible score of 8.6 on IMDB with over 179,000 voters, #33 in the IMDB prestigious Top-250 movies list, and 85% fresh on RT, famous for its harsh reviewers, this is literally one of the best movies ever made. Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey act-out an engrossing story that peaks only at its very end. The only thing better than this would be the same movie in HD.
Synopsis: Gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath, pride, and lust–these are the seven deadly sins that are being punished with unimaginable cruelty and calculation by an enigmatic killer in David Fincher’s bleak thriller SEVEN. Set in a perpetually gloomy unnamed city, the film follows Somerset (Morgan Freeman), a retiring police detective, as he experiences his final week on the job, reluctantly working with assertive newcomer Mills (Brad Pitt). When an obese man is found brutally murdered in his home, the seasoned Somerset realizes this is no ordinary killing–someone tortured him because of his appetite. Slayings that reflect the sins of greed and sloth soon follow, leading Somerset and Mills on a desperate search to find the mysterious John Doe, who is responsible for these methodical murders. As the case builds to a startling conclusion, both Somerset and Mills become more involved than they ever could have imagined.
