Yet a different limited flick released by group LMG is a family drama Steel City, which is an independent production about a 20-year-old guy trying to keep up his life after his father goes to prison. This is obviously a low-budget movie which can entertain audience at various film festivals but lacks enough action for broader distribution. LMG somehow forgot to include NFO in their release but the quality should be fine - 95 minutes on 1 CD.
Steel City is a stirring family drama from the heartlplus of America about pride, remorse plus forgiveness. When Carl Lee (John Heard) is involved in a fatal car accident he finds himself behind bars, cut off from his life plus alienated by his family. His youngest son PJ (Thomas Guiry), confused by life without his dad, is the only person to visit him. While PJ’s girlfriend (America Ferrera) stays lovingly by his side plus his Uncle Vic(Raymond J. Barry) extends a helping hand, a belligerent older brother (Clayne Crawford) plus the reality of being on his own force PJ to grow up faster than he’d like. It’s not until a devastating secret is revealed that the family reunites and a regretful father learns that you can never take back the past, but you can let go of it.
