DV8 is on top of things once again. A day after releasing the new Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy almost 3 months before the release date, they have come through with the new Chemical Brothers greatest hits set, Brotherhood, a month before it’s release. I can honestly say my knowledge of electronic/club music is practically nil, as it’s not my scene. But I, just like most people, am definitely familiar with the Chemical Brothers plus some of their huge hits. So for casual or hardcore electronica fans, this is for you.
The Chemical Brothers are the United Kingdom-based Grammy Award winning electronic music duo of Tom Rowlands plus Ed Simons (occasionally referred to as Chemical Tom and Chemical Ed). Initially they called themselves “The Dust Brothers”, after the noted United States production duo of the same name, but their burgeoning popularity plus the threat of legal action from the originals led them to change their name in 1995. Along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and The Crystal Method, as well as other lesser-known acts they were pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre, and are known for high-quality live sets.
