From mega structures to mega disasters. Familiar group FTP gives us this show. The Gamma Ray Burst ‘GRB’ phenomenon is familiar to me. In The Universe S01E12, they covered magnetars, black holes, galaxy merges and gamma ray bursts. The difference between The Universe episode about gamma ray bursts, this program further expands on gamma ray bursts - such as the history of scientific discoveries of gamma rays, and then the discovery of real GRBs in the 60s. The brightness of a GRB is approximately equivalent to a billion trillion times our own Sun. The mega disasters series is a giant ‘what-if’ with expert interviews, computer animations and simulated scenarios. We can’t get enough doom-and-gloom so here’s some more.
