It has become general common knowledge that smoking is unhealthy and serves no purpose except to profit ‘the man’ - corporations, and governments who tax the product. However, there is an alarming rise in new smokers, specifically in Mauritius, Nigeria and Malawi. The host, Duncan Bannatyne, investigates. CONCIL brought Sunday’s Top Gear episode and the PDTV version of this show as well. A word of warning - the main host has a very annoying accent.
Duncan Bannatyne embarks on a journey through Africa to assess the rise in underage smoking. Visiting Mauritius, Nigeria and Malawi, he investigates the tactics used in the sale of cigarettes to youngsters. He also hears from a doctor trying to deal with the epidemic in smoking-related diseases, and visits a primary school where more than half of the 11-13-year-olds smoke.
